The Crusaders swim season has officially kicked off their season with a bang! At their first meet against Cousino High School, the Crusaders took the victory from the Patriots. Mike Owensby, Coach of the Crusaders, states, “The boys did very well! We had three swimmers qualify for county, one swimmer for MISCA, and we have three or four swimmers right on the edge of qualifying. Taking into account that we only had eight practices and a few of our swimmers have never swam a meet before, I am very proud of them.”
The beginning of the boy’s season was postponed due to a glass light being broken above the pool, causing the pool the be drained and refilled for the first time in 10 years. Matthew Cassani ‘19 states, “The team is doing well. We had the small issue of missing the first few weeks of practice because of the pool, but we are working now and hoping for a good season.”
The next meet the Crusaders have is January 8, 2019 against L’Anse Creuse High School at L’Anse Creuse High School. For more information on the meets, check the sports section of the North Star website or www.lcnathletics.com.
