“Tiger King” is the latest hit Netflix series, directed by Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin. The show was released on March 20, 2020 after five years of filming. The show currently in the top 10 most-watched shows over the last few weeks, and in the first 10 days of being released, “Tiger King” was watched by 34.4 million people around the world. That number makes this one of Netflix’s most successful releases.

The show is a true crime documentary about the life of a zookeeper, Joe Exotic. The hit series focuses on big cat caretakers and conservationists such as the infamous Carole Baskin, the owner of Big Cat Rescue, and other private zoos that Joe and his team compete against.

“Tiger King” also focuses on Carole Baskin and Joe Exotics’ feud that has been going on for years. While Baskin claims that she is an animal rights activist, Exotic claims that she is just a rival zookeeper whose goal is to eliminate her competition. Exotic even goes as far to say that Baskin murdered her own husband, who has been missing since 1997.

“Tiger King” is all about competition and how far you’re willing to go in order to stay number one. “I would definitely recommend it. It’s just crazy and that’s the fun part. Overall it is a very good show,” says Braylon Champion, ‘23.

While we’re all stuck in quarantine with nothing to watch, give “Tiger King” a try and see what it is all about! You might just find it super exotic and end up begging for more!
