There are many Christmas movies that have been produced and have been in theaters. One of the top Christmas movies to ever release, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, is a film made in 2000 written originally by Dr.Seuss and directed by Ron Howard. The main character, “Grinch” played by Jim Carrey and “Cindy Lou Who” played by Taylor Momsen. The Grinch is a story of a Who, who is a little bit different from the rest of The Who’s and gets bullied for who he is and he gets very sad and made. He leaves Whoville at a very young age to live in a cave for the rest of his life. Everyone since has seen the Grinch as a mean scary man but many just don’t know the real him. The only Who, who has faith in him and believes he is a kind person is Cindy Lou Who, she changes everything for him.

Plot: The Grinch grew up in Whoville just like every other Who. He was a bit different as he was green and hairy, and he got bullied for that in elementary school. Due to the bullying, he ran away to a mountain and lived in a cave for the rest of his life. Everyone in Whoville saw him as a scary monster, no one knew who he really was.

Every Who in Whoville was excited for Christmas and was rushing to buy and send out all their gifts. As Cindy goes to the back of the post office, she makes an encounter with Mr.Grinch and does no think of him as a monster. Later that day she walked to his cave and invited him to the Cheermister, a Christmas celebration in Whoville. At first he declines the offer, but later he ends up showing up. Every Who there is scared, but once he I crowned “Holiday Cheermister”, the townspeople really see how fun and happy the Grinch really is. Once the celebration is nearly over, The mayor of Whoville gives the Grinch an electric shaver, to show the past and the bullying. As the flashbacks are happening, the Mayor proposes to Martha, the Grinches life long crush. Due to Mayor Augustus Maywho’s actions, the Grinch feels enraged and burns down the huge Christmas tree and goes on a rampage.

Once he arrives back to his cave, he comes up with a plan to ruin Christmas, so he builds a slay and extra large bag to hold all the gifts). Once he is all ready, he goes into the Christmas night as everyone is sleeping, to steal all the Christmas presents and decorations, leaving nothing. He gets to the top of Mount Crumpit and plans to push all the gifts and decorations off the side of the mountain, but something inside tells him not to do it. He really does care about the gifts and the people, and finds out Cindy Lou Who is in the red bag that is about to go off the side of the mountain. The Grinch rushes and tries his hardest to save the red bag and Cindy. He ends up saving both the bag and Cindy, and rides down the mountain with Cindy to return all the gifts and apologizes for what he did wrong. He finally knows the meaning of Christmas is being with friends and family, but unfortunately he does not have anyone. After what he did and how he apologized, the Grinch was accepted by The Who’s and went to feast and celebrate with all of them.
