With the Major League Baseball (MLB) season right around the corner, and spring training starting up in Florida and Arizona, we will finally get our first looks at the new faces on new MLB teams. We will also be seeing returning veterans as well as young new prospects looking to make their debuts this season.

With the spring training already underway, there are many teams to keep a watchful eye on, such as the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers are the team to watch this year, ever since last season, where they won the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Dodgers have also added more to their team this offseason, by picking up the previous Cy Young Award Winner Trevor Bauer, an all-star starting pitcher, to add to their already crazy rotation.

Also, In the National League (NL) West, is the San Diego Padres, one of the most exciting teams in baseball. They have some crazy young talent with their shortstop, Fernando Tatis Jr, and their third baseman, Manny Machado. Joining them this year will be Blake Snell, a starting pitcher that will hopefully help push them to the top.

In the American League (AL) East, there are a couple of teams to keep your eye on, one of them being the Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays have had a couple of rough seasons, but now they have some young talent in Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. During the off season, they went and picked up the best outfielder on the free agent market, George Springer; they also added to their bullpen by adding Kirby Yates, a right handed closing pitcher.

Another team to look at is the Tampa Bay Rays. Although they are not a huge threat physically, the Rays are supposed to add Wander Franco, a future prospect, to their team. Franco is a switch-hitting shortstop and he is supposed to make his MLB debut this upcoming season. He has been the top prospect in the MLB for the past two years, so he is one to watch.

The team that hopes to dominate the AL Central is going to be the Chicago White Sox. Their offense is going to be crazy this year with Tim Anderson, Yasmani Grandal, Luis Robert, and José Abreu (last season’s MVP). They’re already going crazy in spring training, trying to show the league that they’re done messing around.

The last two teams you’re going to want to keep your eyes on are both in the NL East Division: the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets.

The Atlanta braves have a lot of potential on the offensive side with their all star center fielder, Ronald Acuna Jr. The past couple seasons, Acuna has been going crazy with a career Batting Average of 280. They also have the previous season’s NL MVP in Freddie Freeman who is coming off a crazy season, with a batting average of 341.

The last team to keep an eye out for is the New York Mets who have skill on both sides of the field. Their pitching rotation is looking good with their go-to man being Jacob deGrom, a two time Cy Young Award Winner. They also have Noah Syndergaard, an all star starting pitcher to help add to their defense. In the off season, they added some offense to their line up by adding Francisco Lindor, a switch hitting shortstop who was previously on the Cleveland Indians. Lindor is just what the Mets needed to assert their dominance in the league.

Even though there won’t be too much in-game watching this year, this baseball season will definitely be worth watching.
