Godzilla VS. Kong movie review

Michael Yuschak , Staff writer

Both Godzilla and King Kong have been around since the early 1950’s.  Their stories have changed with time. In their 1950’s appearance, Godzilla and King Kong unquestionably made a name for their individual characters in history. Recently, Hollywood has been creating what they call “The Monster Verse”.  This started with “Godzilla” in the year 2014, then came “Kong Skull Island” in the year 2017.

Godzilla VS. Kong is a very good follow up movie for both of these monsters and it is their second crossover. In the most current movie from the monster universe “Godzilla V.S Kong”, we are presented with both creatures on different sides of the world facing different conflicts. From their last movie, Godzilla was thought to be the world’s savior against all other dangerous Titans (monsters) that may roam the Earth, but as he attacks many parts of the world, people grew scared and were in need of protection. As for Kong, the team behind the Apex company has captured him and he lives in a huge dome containment facility. As time goes on Kong understands and becomes more aware of where he is.  As the world tries to discover where all of these Titans come from, Godzilla and Kong cross paths and end up having huge destructive battles that kill many people and destroy parts of cities. There is an interesting twist towards the end of the movie when the two Titans end up fighting each other.

All in all, this movie is a very good addition to the monster universe series and in my opinion, is only going to get bigger. There are rumors that there will be more solo movies introducing new Titans that appeared in some of the original movies back in the early 1950’s. I am really excited to see what the future movies will be like with all the effects and action sequences.
