LCN Bowling Takes on Mac Red Tournament

The LCN Girls Bowling team is having a very successful season! The Varsity girls are in second place in the Mac Red with a 6:1 record, and the JV girls are in first place in the Mac Red with a record of 5:1. On Saturday February 5th, the girls competed in the Mac Red singles tournament. The girls did extremely well claiming two titles; Kayla Mazure ‘22 earned the title of Champion of Varsity Mac Red Singles and Jenna Daugherty ‘24 earned the title of Champion of JV Mac Red Singles. Mazure stated, “I really enjoy the bowling program, it’s a good experience.” She also says that the team bonds very well and works to lift each other up. The girls also competed at the Eisenhower Doubles on February 6th; Varsity bowlers Mazure and Sophie Paupert ‘23 took fourth place. The boys bowling team was also at this tournament. Two Varsity boys, Dawson Freshney ‘22 and Ryan Frederick ‘23, took fourth in the Eisenhower Doubles, along with the JV boys, Chris White ‘24 and Brandon Hiestand ‘23, also took fourth place in this tournament. The Boys Varsity Bowling team is in fifth place with a 1:6 record, the JVA team is in fourth place with a 4:3 record, and the JVB team is in fourth place with a 1:5 record. Both the girls and boys teams practice once a week at Imperial Lanes for about 2-2 ½ hours. They have matches and tournaments once or twice a week that last about 3 hours.
