An Adaptation of “Humans of New York” by Brandon Stanton

Ever wonder what goes on in the mind of teenagers? This second installment of the LCN student adaptation of “Humans of New York” by Brandon Stanton does just that. Stanton originally started his “Humans of New York” project back in 2010 and it only consisted of photos. His original goal was to take 10,000 photos of his subjects but along the way, he found himself stopping for a chat. “Probably either joining the tennis team freshman year or my 11th-grade homecoming.”

“I guess it’s really helped with getting more self-confidence with your teachers and stuff.”

What was your fondest memory of high school?

“The musicals in general. I didn’t always like to do musicals so when I entered freshman year, I went out of my comfort zone and found a group of friends and a whole new thing I like to do.”

What’s something you learned at LCN that could actually help you in the future?

“Growing and maturing just in general. I think you just develop a new reality of what life after high school is really like. You create new habits.”

What LCN teacher would you be friends with if they were your age today? 

“Mrs. Hough, because I feel like we both have crazy schedules, and we both have so much on our plate, but we always find time to hang with our friends.”

“Community. It’s about if a group of different aged adults who are in community college and they get together to study.”
