Head to The Upside Down for Stranger Things 4

The new Stranger Things 4 cover.

After an almost three year postponement, it’s time to head back to the Upside Down for Stranger Things 4 Volume 1, which was released on Friday, May 27th.

Since there was a long-lasted break, here is a refresher and what should be expected of the new season. As we know from season 3, Starcourt Mall in Hawkins, Indiana became a huge turning point in the show. Max’s brother Billy, who throughout the season got possessed by the Mind Flayer, sacrificed his life to the Spider Monster in the mall which saved the life of his sister and others. In the same events, Eleven, who has psychokinetic and telepathic abilities, used all of her power to kill off the Spider Monster leaving her exhausted and now powerless. At the same time as these events, Hopper and Joyce were beneath the mall, in a secret lab, where a group of Russian agents hoped to open another gate to the Upside Down using a laser beam machine. Hopper found himself fighting an agent at the same time the machine blew up, which left watchers to assume he was dead. After what happened in Starcourt Mall, Joyce Byers, along with the rest of her family and Eleven, moved to California to get away from the horrific events in Hawkins.

Without spoiling the new season, let’s get to know some new cast members. Eddie Munson, a die heart Dungeons and Dragons player who is the leader of Hellfire Club, becomes a close friend of Dustin’s and will play a huge role in the new season. Argyle, who Jonathan meets in his new California town, is a pizza delivery driver who becomes the chauffeur of Jonathan and others in season 4. Although there are many more, Peter Ballard plays a big role throughout the season. He gets to know Eleven and helps us understand more about Dr. Martin Brenner’s exercises in Hawkins National Lab.

If you are quick to finish the new season and cannot wait to see what comes next, don’t worry because there are more episodes on the way. Stranger Things 4, Volume 2 is said to premiere on July 1st, 2022, so be prepared to get sucked into more of the Upside Down.
